Inspirational THoughts

How many times have you had a thought about contacting someone, but didn't follow through?

I read a post this morning about someone who had a good friend that she had lost touch with and then had the chance to reconnect with, but then found out the friend had cancer. She thought about writing a card to say how much she appreciated her friendship, but just couldn't seem to get started...and then it was too late, her friend was gone.

How many times have you held on to something saying, "I'm keeping it for something special." You may have read a story about a husband finding a beautiful red slip in his wife's lingerie drawer that she was saving for "just the right time", but now she was gone.

Too often we let the moments pass, the moments that can change not only our life, but the life of the person we share with. Too often we let our busyness get in the way of reaching out and touching someone.

As I sit here typing this, I am reminded of my good neighbour down the road who is 96 and in failing health. Why am I not down there visiting her instead of sitting at my computer? Why not, indeed. I think I will call her up and see if she feels like a visit from me. I could certainly use a visit with her.

Stop and think for a moment....who do you need to reach out to right now?

Now, do it.

We Remember

How many times lately have you turned to the obituaries page and seen the death notice of another soldier. I think all of our World War 1 Vets are gone and most of our World War 2 Vets as well. However, there are still many who are serving and giving their lives today. Even though the official Remembrance Day is over, I wanted to share this poem. It was sent to me in an email and I don't know who the author is. If someone does, please let me know so that I can acknowledge their gift.

Remembrance Day

He was getting old and paunchy
And his hair was falling fast,
And he sat around the Legion,
Telling stories of the past.

Of a war that he once fought in
And the deeds that he had done,
In his exploits with his buddies;
They were heroes, every one.

And tho' sometimes to his neighbours
His tales became a joke,
All his buddies listened quietly
For they knew whereof he spoke.

But we'll hear his tales no longer,
For old Jim has passed away,
And the world's a little poorer
For a Soldier died today.

He won't be mourned by many,
Just his children and his wife.
For he lived an ordinary,
Very quiet sort of life.

He held a job and raised a family,
Going quietly on his way;
And the world won't note his passing,
Tho' a Soldier died today.

When politicians leave this earth,
Their bodies lie in state.
While thousands note their passing,
And proclaim that they were great.

Papers tell of their life stories
From the time that they were young.
But the passing of a Soldier
Goes unnoticed, and unsung.

Is the greatest contribution
To the welfare of our land,
Someone who breaks his promise
And cons his fellow man?

Or the ordinary fellow
Who in times of war and strife,
Goes off to serve his country
And offers up his life?

The politician’s stipend
And the style in which he lives,
Are often disproportionate,
To the service that he gives.

While the ordinary soldier,
Who offered up his all,
Is paid off with a medal
And perhaps a pension - though small.

It is not the politicians
With their compromise and ploys,
Who won for us the freedom
That our country now enjoys.

Should you find yourself in danger,
With your enemies at hand,
Would you really want some cop-out,
With his ever waffling stand?

Or would you want a Soldier -
His home, his country, his kin,
Just a common Soldier,
Who would fight until the end?

He was just a common soldier,
And his ranks are growing thin,
But his presence should remind us
We may need his like again.

For when countries are in conflict,
We find the soldier's part,
Is to clean up all the troubles
That the politicians start.

If we cannot do him honour
While he's here to hear the praise,
Then at least let's give him homage
At the ending of his days.

Perhaps just a simple headline
In the paper that might say:
"OUR COUNTRY IS IN MOURNING,
A SOLDIER DIED TODAY."

Please keep the memory of our soldiers in your mind all year long.

Thanks to Those Who Serve

I wrote this this morning while attending a Remembrance Day Service.

An hour of our time
Is it too much to ask,
to think about those who died
to keep our country safe?
To think about those who
continue to serve,
caring not for themselves,
but for those of us who remain here
safe and sound,
while they suffer in the trenches of wars
stationed far away from family and friends?
And yet, they continue to volunteer to serve.
No, an hour is not too much,
and a lifetime is not long enough.
Thank you to all who serve
and who have served in the past.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Dreams

Impossible is Just a Word

Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn't fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn't dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?

Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.

This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing.

But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher.

The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can't do this. It's too hard. It's too impossible. No one can do this. However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.

Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee. Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumble, bee no one has told it so. So fly it does.

On the other hand, some people suffer from dreaming totally outrageous dreams and not acting on them. The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations.

If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you deem impossible. If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging on to the impossible dream.

Try this exercise. Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life. Under one header, list down things ‘you know you can do’. Under another header, write the things ‘you might be able to do.’ And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’

Now look at all the headings and strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’. Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’

As each of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’

As you continue through this process, you will find out that the goals you once thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.

You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little. However, it also is unwise to set a goal that is truly unrealistic. Those who just dream towards a goal without working hard end up disappointed and disillusioned.

On the other hand, if you told someone a hundred years ago that it was possible for man to be on the moon, they would laugh at you. If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the world in a few seconds, they would say you were out of your mind. But, through sheer desire and perseverance, these impossible dreams are now realities.

Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be had work and discipline. But take note that that 1% has to be a think-big dream, and not some easily accomplished one.

So dream on, friend! Don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations. Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.

To your "impossible" dream

The Optimist's Creed

by Christian D. Larson |

"Your Forces and How to Use Them"

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.

To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.

To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

To your success

Where Are You Going?

10 Driving Tips On the Road To Your Dreams
- Tara Sage Steeves, Create Your Life Inc.

Where are YOU going?

I often rave about my GPS, a cherished "gift that keeps on giving". Not only do I love it because of the ease and confidence it offers me in finding my way, but this fabulous little computer also calculates my anticipated time of arrival. I just love that... Short of something catastrophic or a massive detour, I breathe easier knowing when and where I'll arrive at my destination.

But wait, there's more!

In the event of a missed turn, Jill (yes, that's her name) echos the word "recalculating" while identifying an alternate route that will take me to my destination. No judgment or panic, simply: recalculating. Ahhh...anyone who's ridden in my car with me knows first-hand, that I have great affection for my GPS.

On the road to realizing your dreams, there is much to be learned from this nifty little invention.

10 DRIVING TIPS ON THE ROAD TO YOUR DREAMS:

1. Unless you know your destination, a GPS will not be much use to you. You must choose a destination! This is not to say you can't change direction at any time, it just means that in order to receive guidance about where to go, you must begin by choosing which way to head. (By the way, there is of course not a thing wrong with a joy-ride, as long as you don't feel any particular urgency to get anywhere in particular.)

2. When would you like to arrive? Are you traveling, by foot, bike, car...? Take into account how fast you're able to travel for a steady distance, and when you would like to arrive. With a bit of planning, you'll be able to easily assess how soon to set out on your journey and what to pack.

3. Give yourself some extra time so you can stop along the way to refuel.

4. Remember: You are in the drivers seat.

5. Enjoy the ride. Half the fun is getting there.

6. If it feels daunting to go it alone, find others who are heading in a similar direction to join you. (See below for more info on this!)

7. Pace yourself.

8. Glance in the rear-view mirror periodically, but keep your primary focus on what's in front of you.

9. Celebrate each milestone along the way, knowing that every step counts.

10. Don't doubt and question whether or not you'll get there! Just keep going...

Dreaming together creates a very special bond. Similar to how a GPS can guide you to your destination, our programs will guide you to realize your life dreams and goals - and take the most direct route!

You don't have to use any more precious fuel spinning your wheels. If you are tired of going it alone or know it's time to ask for directions, our programs are here to move you forward at an accelerated pace...

"We are not even half-way through The Dream-Acceleration™ Program, and I have been having one incredible synergistic day after another! Tara said this process would be mysterious and profound - and she wasn't kidding! After living most of my life letting life happen to me, I am finally making my life happen on my terms by applying the tips and step-by-step tools that I have learned over these short few weeks. Tears of joy have been to my soul, what soap is to the body! I'm so excited about the clarity I have, and the realization that I really don't have to do it alone. Now, there's no question in my mind that I will LIVE my dream, not just dream it. Thank you!" ~ Laurie G.

"The Dream Circle allows each person to voice their dreams with no fear of put-down. It's exciting to see how seeds developed as each session moved along and witnessing how dreams morph or become far more defined. The inspiration is two-fold. It feels so very good to help others by offering positive, constructive feedback, and in turn that same constructive feedback helps you crystalize your own dream more clearly. Together we created a circle where each other's ideas evolved from concepts, to an outline, to attainability. It was magical." ~ Hilary S., Newport, RI

The Lord's Prayer - beautifully done by Vance Perry

The beginning's a bit weird, but the rest makes up for that.

I hope you enjoyed this. He has a number of other ones. I have been siting here for almost an hour listening to him and decided to share.

Purified

Job 23:10 But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

Psalm 66:10 “For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.”

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Purified in Jesus

Jesus, lover of my soul
Keep me safe, and keep me whole.
Let me live my life for Thee,
Truly blessed and truly free.
May I give the ones I love
A sense of presence from above.
May those who know me know You too
And may they be no longer blue,
But full of love and joy and cheer
As they work their way through every year.

May I be always growing,
And may I be always knowing,
Of your love and trust in me,
That I will turn to you and be…
Not do, or run or speak, just be
The person that you want of me.
The one you’ve molded,
And shaped and burned to get the gold.

The silversmith and the goldsmith start their work with impure silver and gold ore. Through the refining process they remove all of the impurities in the ore. This process involves fire, time. and the close attention of the smith. The smith puts the ore in the fire to burn out some of the impurities, then takes it out and shapes it, then back in the fire. All the while he keeps a close eye on this precious metal. When he can see his reflection in the silver, he knows it is done. God too looks to see his reflection in our lives and when He sees it, He knows that we are ready.

Are you being tested? Are you suffering trials and tribulations? Perhaps you too are being purified so that God will be able to see His reflection in you.

To your shining beauty!!

Peace and love

Be Happy

You Can Be As Happy As You Want To Be

Almost everyone has heard the hit single 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' by Bobby McFerrin at some point. The song has a very catchy way of conveying its message about being happy to everyone who hears it.

Living a happy, resilient and optimistic life is wonderful, and is also good for your health. Being happy actually helps to protect you from the many stresses of life. Stress is linked to some of the top causes of death such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.

You have probably heard it said -- 'The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change', and in our life we have the power to make the necessary changes if we want to. Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation we can always find solace in remembering "This too will pass".

We are social beings, so social networks or relationships are essential to our happiness.

It is important to remember that people are different. We need to accept people for who or what they are, avoid clashes, constant arguments, and let go of all kinds of resentments. Even if arguments are unavoidable, you have the choice to try and make an effort to understand the situation or simply walk away.

Increasing your happiness is a way to make your life more wonderful and also more healthy. To be happy is relatively easy, just decide to be a happy person. Abraham Lincoln observed that most people for most of the time can choose how happy or stressed, how relaxed or troubled, how bright or dull their outlook to be. The choice is simple really, choose to be happy.

There are several ways by which you can do this.

One of these is by being greatful. We have so much to be thankful for. Thank the taxi driver for bringing you home safely, thank the cook for a wonderful dinner and thank the guy who cleans your windows. Also thank the mailman for bringing you your mail, thank the policeman for making your place safe and thank God for being alive.

News is stressful, so get less of it. Some people feel they just can't start their day without their daily dose of news, but think about it, 99% of the news we hear or read is bad news. Starting the day with bad news does not seem to be a sensible thing to do.

A religious connection is also recommended. Being part of a religious group with its singing, sacraments, chanting, prayers and meditations foster inner peace.

Manage your time. Time is invaluable and too important to waste. Time management can be viewed as a list of rules that involves scheduling, setting goals, planning, creating lists of things to do and prioritizing. These are the core basics of time management that should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill.

Laugh and laugh heartily everyday. Heard a good joke? Tell your friends or family about it. As they also say -'Laughter is the best medicine'.

Express your feelings, affections, friendship and passion to people around you. They will most likely reciprocate your actions. Try not to keep pent up anger or frustrations, as this is bad for your health. Instead find ways of expressing them in a way that will not cause more injury or hurt to anyone.

Working hard brings tremendous personal satisfaction. It gives a feeling of being competent in finishing our tasks. Accomplishments are necessary for all of us, they give us a sense of value. Work on things that you feel worthy of your time.

Learning is a joyful exercise. Learning also allows us to expand and broaden our horizons, and could also give us more opportunities in the future.

Try and learn something new everyday.

Run, jog, walk and do other things that your body was made for. Feel alive.

Avoid exposure to negative elements like loud noises, toxins and hazardous places.

These are the few simple things you can do everyday to be happy.

And always remember the quote from Abraham Lincoln, he says that, "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

May you expand your BANABU experience by being happy!

Problems with Clutter?

10 Questions to Help You Declutter
by Mandi on April 12, 2010
http://organizing.yourway.net/10-questions-to-help-you-declutter/

BANABU - Building a New and Better Universe - Building a New and Better U (you)

"One aspect of having a simple home is to keep it free from clutter. While there are varying degrees of this and not everyone chooses to live a minimalist lifestyle, there’s no way to get around the need to declutter regularly as part of your simplifying goal."

This list really hit home to me. I am going to print it out and carry it with me and look at it as I go through each room of my house. There are so many things that fit into these categories. I raise 4 children and I still have things in the "to be mended" bag that no longer fit them. Time to toss. And the number of things I have held onto "just in case"....wow.

I hope this list will help you too in your journey to BANABU.

1. Is this item something I use regularly?
A lot of times we keep gadgets, tools, toys, art supplies, et cetera around because they seem useful. However, it’s important to consider how often you actually use each item when deciding whether it’s worth keeping or should be given away. If you haven’t touched it in three to six months (or more), despite your best intentions, it is a good candidate for decluttering.

2. If not, is it something I love?
Of course, there are obviously exceptions to this rule (including seasonal items that you usually regularly in season). One exception I would always encourage you to make is for items you love. Keeping a painting from your grandmother that you love even if it doesn’t have a place in your current home is much different than keeping a snowcone maker that you have been meaning to use for two summers but never seem to have the motivation to actually pull out.

3. Am I keeping this out of obligation or expectation?
Chances are there is at least one thing in your home that you’re keeping not because it’s useful or you love it but because it was a gift from someone and you feel obligated to keep it. While I completely understand the desire not to hurt someone’s feelings, I think it is also important to remember that this is your home and if it is affecting your life, it’s okay to declutter gifts as well as the things that you’ve bought for yourself.

4. Am I holding onto this because I think I should love it?
Maybe you have a piece of artwork or a trendy outfit you picked up because they were popular and you felt like you should love them, even though you really don’t. Maybe your craft area is stocked with supplies for a hobby that no longer interests you. In all of these cases, it’s important to consider how you really feel and make your decisions based on those feelings rather than the ones you think you should have!

5. Am I saving this just in case?
One of the most common causes of clutter is a fear of needing something that you’ve given or thrown away. The reality is that if you commit to simplifying and decluttering, chances are that this will happen at some point. But for those of us who take the plunge to get rid of the unnecessary, the benefit of a clutter-free home is almost always worth the tiny bit of regret in these situations.

6. Do I have multiples of the same thing?
How many spoons or spatulas do you really need in your kitchen? Obviously your answer will depend on the type of cook you are, but ask yourself this question whenever you have multiples of any item. There’s a difference between being prepared and more efficient and just creating clutter!

7. Could something else I own do the same job?
I think this is a fun question! As you’re decluttering, look at any specialized tools or items you have and ask yourself if you could do the same job with another item, thereby cutting down on the number of different things you keep. To use another kitchen example, I decided to simplify our entertaining by giving away a bunch of our serving bowls once I bought a set of beautiful stainless steel mixing bowls from Ikea. I use these every day for cooking, but they also make great bowls for chips, dip, ice, et cetera.

8. Am I holding onto a broken item to fix one day?
This is another classic cause of clutter. Perhaps you have a piece of broken furniture or a broken electronic that you’re just sure you will have the time and desire to fix at some point. But ask yourself how long it’s been sitting in storage waiting for that day to come and whether you’re really ever going to get to it as you make the tough decisions about what to keep and what to get rid of.

9. Is this item worth the time I spend cleaning/storing it?
It’s important to remember that both your time and the space in your home have value. Think about how much time you spend cleaning knickknacks that you don’t really love. Or how about the time you spend sorting through the things in storage time and again to either find something you do need or want or to try to declutter once more. Would your life have less stress and busyness without those items?

10. Could I use this space for something else?
Think of the possibilities of what you could do with a closet or storage area in your home if you weren’t holding onto everything that currently fills it. What about a shelf full of knickknacks or books that don’t really interest anyone in your home? Your space has value too, and it’s important to look at the cost of everything you keep in terms of the space it occupies as well.

Which of these questions is the most challenging for you? Are there items in your home that you need to give yourself permission to give or throw away?

Change Your Life For The Better

What Innovation Can Do to Your Life

Have you ever marvelled at somebody's creative prowess? Guess what, you can create and innovate too. It just takes time. Everyone is born creative. Think about the box of crayons you were given in kindergarten. They were not limited to those the teacher thought possessed potential, they were given to everyone; because the truth is, everybody has potential.

You know how long it took to learn to ride a bike or to drive or to never commit the same mistake again? It's the same with innovation. It takes a bit of practice and a lot of time to train your mind. This article is designed to give you a few tips on how to bring more innovation into your life.

First, don't listen to what other people say. Follow the beat of your own drum. Allowing for the input of other people will probably only bring cacophony to the music you are trying to make. If you have an original idea, don't waste your time and effort trying to make people understand. For the most part, they won't. And the help you will probably get often comes in the form of negative feedback. If all geniuses listened to their peers, we would probably still be living in the middle ages.

You need to spend time on it. Instead of watching TV, exercise. Take a walk. Run a mile or two. Send all those endorphins coursing through your veins. Exercising certainly clears and relaxes your mind and allows for anything to pop up. This involves some tricky time management but with a little discipline you'll be able to squeeze both work and creativity into your day.

Record your dreams. Aren't some of them just the craziest things that your conscious mind would never have thought of? If you've had these dreams before, and I'm sure you have, this shows you the untapped innovative power you have lying within. So jot down those notes. Those dreams may just create a spark in you that can lead you in a completely new direction.

Find your own style. Perhaps you can't always tell a Van Gogh from a Matisse but maybe you'll know what Hemingway wrote by the choice of words on the paper. Each of us is unique. People will appreciate your innovation because it is uniquely yours and no one else would have thought of what you were thinking. People see how valuable an asset you are.

Don't hide behind nifty gadgets or tools. You don't need the most expensive set of paints to produce a masterpiece, nor do you need some expensive fountain pen and really smooth paper for a bestseller. In fact, J.K. Rowling wrote the first book of the Harry Potter Series on bits of tissue. So what if you've got an expensive SLR camera if you're a crappy photographer? Who cares if you've got a high-end laptop if you can't write at all? The artist actually reduces the number of tools he has as he gets better at his craft: he knows what works and what doesn't. Grab yourself some coloured pencils or coloured pens and start working on your ideas. Take a look at SARK and her amazing handwritten books. She has her own unique style and you can create yours.

Nothing will work without passion. What wakes you up in the mornings? What keeps the flame burning? What is the one thing that you'll die if you don't do? Sometimes people with talent are overtaken by the people who want it more. Think the hare and the tortoise. Ellen Degeneres once said that if you're not doing something that you want to do, then you don't really want to do it. And that's true. Sometimes you just want something so bad you become virtually unstoppable. And that is passion. Passion will keep you going.

Don't worry about inspiration. You can't force it; inspiration hits when you least expect it to, for those unpredictable yet inevitable moments you should prepare. An idea could strike you on the subway, yet alas, you poor unfortunate soul, you have no sheet of paper to scribble down a thought that could change the world. Avoid these disasters. Have a pen and paper within your arm's reach at all times.

I hope this article has helped you with some ideas on how to bring more innovation into your life. Keep in mind that you're doing these things for your own satisfaction and not anybody else's. But soon enough they will notice, and everything should snowball from there.

To your new life!!

Upper Limits

Are you fighting your Upper Limit Success Saboteur?

What I have noticed with business owners is that we have a unique way of sabotaging our business growth and success.

I've seen many clients go to a workshop. Perhaps this has happened to you. You go and get clear about the next marketing strategy for your business. You can't wait to get started. You get really excited about your newfound business clarity. Once you get home, you take a few steps toward creating a project you are excited about and then... Boom! Everything stops. It falls apart. For some reason, you get irritable and procrastinate or find all these "emergencies" arise that require your attention.

There is a very good chance you are bumping up against your Upper Limit of Success.

Here's what that might look like: you keep telling yourself (and others) that you never follow through with projects. Then, even though you are really excited about a project, you'll find some way to sabotage your success. It might be kids who need your attention, an emergency with your home, or suddenly you've just got to volunteer and be more involved in your child's school.

One of my favorite books about this concept is The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. He talks about how we all have a thermostat setpoint when it comes to love, success, joy and abundance. (Actually, I added joy as I find that most of us feel guilty when we really start enjoying something whether it's a business success, a creative project bursting forth, or for some of us, even laughing out loud from a place of joy can feel dangerous.) We're so afraid of what others will think, or that we are afraid others will feel bad if we are happy & successful or that somehow we aren't worthy enough to enjoy success bigger than whatever we have experienced before.

Our inner thermostat is the comfort level we unconsciously set for ourselves. For example, let's say that for the last two years you've made $100,000 in your business. You say you are ready to grow bigger. You say you want to double your income, but you've only ever made $100,000. It's not that you can't. It's that unconsciously you have a comfort level around that lower amount. It's amazing how you will find ways to keep yourself from allowing the success in. Maybe you've experienced a big, juicy, ideal new client contacts you and you procrastinate getting back to them.

What do you do now?

The first step to changing a belief is always awareness. You have to be aware of your repetitive thought, belief or action. From that awareness you can shift most beliefs. Just shining light on it will allow you to consciously shift your energy, start new conversations, make a new choice and take a new action.

I have a lot of clients who are writing books. Funny how everyone seems to be writing a book these days! What I notice is that some of them are always still in the writing process. I think there's an Upper Level Success Saboteur at work. You have to be able to imagine yourself as a published author, see yourself at book signings, knowing without a doubt that the time you spend writing is worthwhile -that people are there in the world who need to hear your message. It's easy to get caught in the "Who am I do write this?" attitude.

YOU are the one to deliver it to them.

Here's another example from a client who said she wanted to hold a workshop and kept getting frustrated that people weren't signing up for the workshop. Turned out she hadn't booked the hotel suite or her flight yet. She wasn't committed to her own decision. No wonder things were slow. As soon as she shifted, the enrollments started coming in!

The world is waiting for you to get out of your own way!

Notice how you say you are ready for a new project, to launch a new marketing strategy that will put you in the spotlight, or raise your prices and see how you find ways to pull yourself back into your comfort zone. Be compassionate. Notice and then laugh as you recognize what's happening. Then keep taking bite-sized action steps forward. Keep noticing when things like friends, family, emergencies seem to get in the way of you taking forward action.

And then make new choices. Take new actions. And raise that Upper Limit of Success to allow more in.

Relationships

Do you realize relationships begin shortly after birth and are ongoing ways of life for every person on the planet?

An important part of life depends on how we develop our relationships with others. Perhaps, if we consider examples of this development, a better understanding will enable us to think more clearly before we interact with others.

Examples:

1. At birth we acknowledge a relationship with our mothers
2. Growing up, we build friendships with family members
3. In school, relationships with peers and teachers are normal
4. Most begin their dating relationships along the way
5. Searching for first employment, relationships must be formed
6. To market products, relationships are tried, tested, used

Most sports require close relationships to build a winning team. How far would the space programs have gotten without close working relationships? Would we marry without an excellent relationship with our partner?

As people mature in life, many relate an emptiness that is often difficult to understand or comprehend if a relationship has not been established with our creator. This personal relationship will fill a void that no other can fill. This is the most important relationship of all in every life, for complete fulfillment and joy.

The purpose for these examples are to enhance our willingness and desire to work on developing meaning in our lives, our families, and our businesses to become better persons and better marketers with positive relationship building goals.

A few very important traits in relationships are integrity or honesty, trust, and a willingness to open ourselves to others and be examined.

Have you ever experienced failure? Perhaps it was caused by the lack of trust or integrity in another. Can relationship building with other persons prevent failure? Would your business become more successful with many great relationships? Think on these statements and make the adjustments in your life that you feel may improve your disposition.

These basic groundwork ideas on relationships are written to jog your thinking and perhaps increase your business skills until they direct you to a point where success in business is inevitable and joy in your work becomes a normal lifestyle.

Many times along the path of life, failures occur. It is good to recognize and know the importance of developing good relationships during these trials and to be well prepared for the needed improvements.

Expect the best, prepare for the worst, and take what comes, is a great buffer for the many trials that happen in life.

Great relationships developed over a lifetime, yield great rewards!

To your Successful and Happy Relationships

You Are Brilliant

Cultivating Your Personal Brilliance
Your Natural Abilities Add Up To Personal Brilliance

By Jim Canterucci,
Author of Personal Brilliance: Mastering the Everyday Habits that Create a Lifetime of Success

Personal Brilliance is the result of mastering the everyday habits that create a lifetime of success. Personal Brilliance is the sum of what you’ve learned, experienced, and practiced. Awareness, curiosity, focus, and initiative are the catalysts that spark innovative thinking and light the way to brilliant thinking and brilliant action. These four catalysts are innate abilities – natural gifts – possessed by each of us and they can be just as useful at home as they are at work.

For instance, one busy mother got tired of juggling work demands with last-minute requests from her kids. She decided to train her children in time management by having a planning-time session on Sunday evenings, at which time all her children had to tell her what activities they had planned for the coming week. Then, if they asked to do something and it wasn't on the weekly schedule, the answer would be "no" unless it was a true "life or death" emergency. Soon, when the children’s "I forgot to tell you" resulted in mom saying, "Next week you'll remember to plan early” instead of hectic last minute changes, sanity returned to her schedule: personal brilliance, in a real life situation.

That Personal Brilliance will benefit you in the business arena almost goes without saying. After a thirty-year banking career, John Huston used his awareness, coupled with his vast experience, to identify the positive economic impact that entrepreneurial businesses have in the creation of jobs in a community. Also applying curiosity, focus, and a great deal of initiative, John has played a huge part in galvanizing the angel investor community in Ohio to support entrepreneurial ventures in the area. He has created angel investor events in which entrepreneurs can make their innovations known and, as a result, is the co-founder of the only angel fund in Columbus, Ohio. John used his experience, as well as his habits of personal brilliance, to create a new career that is tremendously helpful to his community.

The secret to personal brilliance is mastering the everyday habits of the four catalysts: awareness, curiosity, focus and initiative. To find out where you rate on the Personal Brilliance scale, take the 10-minute Personal Brilliance Quotient Assessment at www.MyPersonalBrilliance.com. Your results will let you know which catalysts are strongest and which ones you can enhance with practice.

Awareness involves self-awareness first (the hardest part), then being conscious of your environment. As your awareness of a particular issue or situation grows, so does its influence as you're reading a book or article, watching a pertinent program, or having a conversation. You begin to think about it subconsciously in everything you do.

You develop a curiosity as you think, looking in many different arenas for insights. You pay attention to all aspects of your life with this filter, seeking to solve the problem. You look at the obvious things, but your curiosity helps you go deeper.

While going about your day-to-day life, you are extremely focused on the problem. I’m not talking about a laser beam focus. I’m referring to a 360-degree focus, more like a spotlight with a beam that widens out. You don’t want to limit yourself. Your focused attention should allow you to be open to all possible solutions that are out there.

Awareness, Curiosity, and Focus lead to many new ideas and options. However, without Initiative, ideas never get put into action. Individually, the four catalysts – awareness, curiosity, focus, and initiative – are invaluable. Combine their forces and you will astound yourself. It’s important to mention that for some reason, coming up with a new idea or solving a problem hardly ever happens by applying these catalysts in a linear order. Although you can be intrigued with an idea, then increase your awareness, become more curious about the topic, focus on it, and finally take action, it’s more likely that two or more of these catalysts will be engaged at the same time. These catalysts tend to work together so seamlessly, that it’s often impossible to determine the order in which they occurred.

When these four catalysts become daily habits, the wheel of innovation spins! By harnessing the power of each of these habits, your level of personal success and fulfillment will soar.

Are You Living Your Life On Purpose?

TOOLS FOR LIVING TRUE TO YOUR LIFE PURPOSE
Life On Purpose Institute, Inc. 2001

PURPOSE PRACTICES: An activity that is engaged in on a regular basis that has the person be present to and aware of their life purpose.

PURPOSE PONDERINGS: A question that is posed each day that presences the person's life purpose while they 'ponder' it.

PURPOSEFUL PLAY: Working on a project, goal, or task in such a way that you're willing to play and experiment with it while having a particular plan or intention. The secret to purposeful play is being committed to a particular result or outcome without being attached to that outcome.

There are 3 important parts to this tool for living on purpose:
1. The experience or way of being you enter into a project, goal or task. In purposeful play you're ready to experiment, to explore and to discover -- there's a lightness and playfulness.
2. At the same time, your actions are not random but are guided by an intention or purpose.
3. Last of all, the freedom to be playful comes from staying committed to the project, goal or task without getting attached to the results.

PURPOSE PROJECTS: A set of actions with specific results that are measurable that is a natural expression of one's life purpose. While working to fulfill the project, the person is more alive and aware of their life purpose.

LIFE PURPOSE COACHING: A generative conversation that supports a person in clarifying their life purpose as well as providing a structure for them to live true to their purpose over time. Individual life purpose coaching is available through Life On Purpose Institute.

PURPOSE POD: A group of like-minded people meeting on a regular basis to assist each other in clarifying their life purpose and living true to it. Purpose pods may meet in person, through teleconferencing or online through 'chat-sessions.'

PURPOSE PRAYER: A type of purpose passage, a purpose prayer is a longer passage that includes your life purpose that you say with passion and as a created declaration of who you intend to be that day.

PURPOSE PLATITUDE: A platitude is defined as a banal, trite or stale remark. And that's what your created life purpose statement will turn into if you don't keep it fresh, alive and flourishing in awareness and consciousness.

PURPOSE PARTNERS: People who know you and relate to you as your created life purpose. The more purpose partners you have the easier it is to stay true to your created purpose.

PURPOSE PARADOXES: Not so much a tool as what you can expect to 'bump' into along the way as you live true to your purpose. The more comfortable you can become with purpose paradoxes the more powerful you will be able to live your life purpose. As Gregg Levoy says in his book, Callings: Living the Authentic Life: "Heroism can be redefined for our age as the ability to tolerate paradox, to embrace seemingly opposing forces without rejecting one or the other just for the sheer relief of it."

One of my favorite purpose paradox that is particularly useful with Purpose Projects is found in purposeful play -- playing full out with an intention, purpose and often specific results in mind, while at the same time staying unattached whether those intentions or results are actually produced.

PURPOSE PIVOTING: A purpose pivot is the act of distinguishing when your inherited purpose is shaping your life, and the choosing to have your created life purpose shape your life instead. Once you've distinguished your inherited purpose and your created life purpose, it's possible to stay on purpose by pivoting. Whenever you notice your inherited purpose beginning to shape your life, you can stop the action for the moment, distinguish what is happening and then begin to pivot to your created life purpose. The more you practice pivoting the better you'll get, and the earlier you can detect your inherited purpose, the easier it will be to pivot as well.

PURPOSEFUL POW-WOWS: During a purposeful pow-wow, you consciously take time in your day to focus on your created life purpose and what you want to create in your life as an expression of your purpose. During a purpose pow-wow, you align your thought, feelings and emotions to powerfully and energetically attract the resources needed to continue to live and express your purpose. Then you maintain your thoughts, and feelings as you take action throughout the day.

ON PURPOSE & OFF PURPOSE PATTERNS: We are all creatures of habits and patterns. Some of our patterns are on purpose -- consistent with our created life purpose -- and some are off purpose -- consistent with our inherited purpose. It is possible and highly recommended to distinguish your off purpose patterns and begin to release them as you create new on purpose patterns in your life.

Attract Abundance

Afloat in A Sea of Abundance
by Rebecca Fine of The Science of Getting Rich Network

In the days of the mighty sailing ships, when brave souls voyaged into the unknown, dependent on the winds and their as-yet incomplete knowledge of geography and navigation, one of the greatest and most dangerous challenges was to traverse the area known as "the doldrums."

Extending about 30 degrees on either side of the equator, the doldrums are subject to days, weeks, even months of no wind at all. After a long and difficult crossing from Europe to South America, lying becalmed in the doldrums, with no land in sight and with the ship's supply of fresh water dwindling, was a terrible and life-threatening situation.

But history and legend offer us some fascinating insights into the power of our own thinking and belief. Back then no one had yet figured out how to determine longitude, although latitude was easily calculated. So if you could not see recognizable land, you could only know in what band of latitude you currently were. Exactly where you were in that ring around the earth was, at that time, unknowable.

And so it happened that at times a ship would fetch up off the coast of South America, out of sight of shore, fresh water supplies exhausted and death knocking at the door. Then, with what must have been the sweetest sound those sailors could ever have hoped for, the lookout would suddenly call out that a ship was approaching in the distance.

Once the ship was within hailing distance, the cry went up: "Water! Give us water!"

And the reply would come back, "Lower your buckets over the side."

You see, although the sailors didn't know it, they were afloat in a virtual river of drinkable and life-sustaining water flowing from the mouth of the powerful Amazon River, which carries nearly 20 percent of all the earth's runoff water into the sea with such force that the fresh (or brackish but safe) water flows as far as 100 miles out into the Atlantic.

The sailors, dying of thirst, only THOUGHT they were experiencing lack. The REALITY was that they were afloat in a literal sea of abundance. Exactly what they needed was within their reach the whole time, but the APPEARANCE of scarcity and their BELIEF in that appearance threatened to overpower them.

They could have died — and many certainly did — believing in lack while surrounded by abundance.

In his amazing 1910 forgotten classic, The Science of Getting Rich, Wallace Wattles writes:

"I have said that people get rich by doing things in a certain way, and in order to do so, people must become able to think in a certain way. A person’s way of doing things is the direct result of the way he thinks about things.

"To do things in the way you want to do them, you will have to acquire the ability to think the way you want to think. This is the first step toward getting rich.

"And to think what you want to think is to think TRUTH, regardless of appearances. "

A couple of months ago, my friend Teresa Romain of Access Abundance
[ www.accessabundance.com ] wrote in my ezine about how Galileo changed the world by looking at things from a new perspective. By dropping the prevailing attitude that the sun revolved around the earth, he was able to see that the opposite was, in fact, the truth.

The key to finding the truth, she noted, was choosing to cast off the old notion and look at the situation anew, through a new lens. Teresa wrote:

"The path that lies before you is one of unlimited abundance. And it begins by SEEING the abundance available all around you.

"As you begin to experience life through the new lens of abundance, you'll find that many of the problems you face today will simply disappear. As for the ones that remain, your relationship to them will have changed profoundly, empowering you to take actions that are congruent with and support abundance."

What old beliefs, what old ways of looking, seeing, and perceiving do YOU need to cast off right now? If you find yourself "in the doldrums," how can you take a fresh look today and begin to see the abundance that surrounds you so that you are empowered rather than becalmed and hopeless?

The choice is always available. If you have chosen unwisely before, remember that every moment is new and the great power lies in your ability to CHOOSE AGAIN, no matter the appearances and no matter what it seems everyone else thinks or does.

Teresa says that this choice "is the path that leads, ultimately, to the fulfillment of your dreams." Mr. Wattles says this choice is "the first step toward getting rich."

Bearing in mind those long-ago sailors, I would add that this choice can be the ultimate choice — for death or for life itself.

That choice, every moment, is yours. Which way do you choose — right now?

Don't Let Your "Not Now" become your "Never

by Roslyn Franken

"How soon 'not now' becomes 'never'" - Martin Luther

How true is that quote? For example, how many times do you think about going for a walk or doing a workout and you say you'll do it 'later' and then it never happens?

This kind of 'not now' attitude can be paralyzing. We have the best of desires and intentions but due to our own fears, laziness or mixed up priorities, we just never seem to get ahead and reach our goals.

Here are some questions for you to think about and 5 Steps to help you break free from your 'Not Now' attitude. If you have questions and/or would like to share your answers for feedback, send email to info@roslynfranken.com

What are some of the things you want to improve in your life that you are saying 'not now' to? For example, are you looking to...

lose weight and get in shape?
improve your overall health and well-being?
have more energy?
have more fun, laughter and passion in your life?
be happier, relax more and have greater inner peace?
slow down your busy life?
make better decisions?
If these are things you want to do, have or be, then are you going to sit back and let your 'not now' turn into your 'never'?

We all put things off at different times in our lives for different reasons. Especially when it comes to our health and happiness goals, it's so easy to procrastinate. I hear it all the time.

I'm too busy
I'm too tired
I don't have time
I'm too lazy
I don't have money
I should be able to do it on my own
Do any of these sound familiar? If yes, then let's look at the high cost of your 'not now' attitude.

Every time there is something you know you need to do and you say to yourself 'now now' or 'I'll do it later', all you are doing is setting yourself up for the inevitable stress and overwhelm that will result because the more you say this to yourself and the more you don't take care of the things you truly want to take care of in your life, the worse you will feel about yourself and the more you'll get stuck in this vicious cycle.

By putting off your health and happiness goals, the cost can be tremendous. For example, if you're too tired and lazy to eat properly, exercise and get proper rest, then your heart and blood will get tired and lazy too. When your heart and blood get tired and lazy, it is called a HEART ATTACK. If that happens, then what? It is going to cost you a lot more time, money and energy to get back on your feet to where you were at prior to the heart attack, if ever, than if you invested in yourself to start with which could have prevented the heart attack to begin with.

So here are 5 steps to break free from this unhealthy cycle.

DON'T PUT THIS OFF TILL LATER - don't think to yourself, "Oh, this sounds good, but I'll read it later"
MAKE YOUR HEALTH AND HAPPINESS YOUR TOP PRIORITIES - Yes. Your work, family and other responsibilities are important, but if you are not taking care of YOU, you will continue to live a limited life physically, mentally, emotionally and spirtitually. When you take charge of your health and happiness, it changes your whole outlook and quality of life. If you have the power to improve your health and happiness starting today, what would stop you?
MAKE THE DECISION TO EMBRACE CHANGE NOW - be honest with yourself right this moment. If you're a 'not now' person and it is clearly not serving you, then make the decision this moment to embrace change instead of continuing to resist it tooth and nail. It's time to let go of the resistance. Just letting go will help you feel better.
BE WILLING TO DO THE WORK AND MAKE THE COMMITMENT - Improving your health, your body, your outlook and your quality of life takes work. If you truly want to be healthier and happier, it takes time, effort and commitment. What you put in will determine what you get out of it and believe me that it is all so worth it if you just give yourself permission to DO IT.
TAKE ACTION - I often hear people say they're afraid of taking action because they're afraid of change, afraid of failure, or afraid they're too lazy to do the work and make the commitment. I encourage you to feel the fears, recognize the self-doubts, ignore the laziness and DO IT anyways. Sometimes it's that first step that is the hardest. I encourage you to dig deep and fine the courage to step beyond your fears, rise to the occasion, stand tall and make things happen. You can do it!
These five steps are so important for any positive change you want to make in your life. Don't let your 'not now' become your 'never'.

What Is Holding You Back??

Learn to express rather than impress. Expressing evokes a "me too" attitude while impressing evokes a "so what" attitude. E. James Rohn

It's Not What You Are That Holds You Back...

A while back I spoke to a group in Houston and I showed them pictures of some very famous people.

They included Thomas Edison, Cher, Walt Disney, Richard Branson, Jay Leno, Whoopi Goldberg, Ted Turner and my hero Winston Churchill.

Then I asked the audience what they all had in common.

Can you guess?

There were quite a few answers from the audience and they were all wrong. It was only after I pulled out $100 and offered it as a prize that a person in the back overcame his fear of being wrong and volunteered the correct answer....

....they were all dyslexic!

I pointed out that the role that made each of them famous also required a lot of reading. Do you know how hard it is for a dyslexic person to read? But not a single one of those great people that I cited let dyslexia keep them from being all they were created to be.

That's why one of my most favorite quotes is, "It's not what you are that holds you back, it's what you think you're not."

I use that quote by Denis Waitley virtually every time I speak to an audience. Because it really speaks to the problem I think most people have in struggling for success --- they believe they're lacking something that, if they possessed it, would make them successful. When the truth is, they already possess everything they need to be successful, they just need to learn how to use it to their advantage.

The Law of Attraction - What you give out you get back

A young boy and his father were walking in the mountains when suddenly the young boy slipped and fell. As he called out, he heard another voice calling back. In amazement, he looked at his father and asked, "What was that?"

His father smiled and said, watch and listen: He called out, "I admire you" the voice answered back, "I admire you.". Again he called, "You are a champion." and again the voice answered, "You are a champion."

As the boy looked at his father, still puzzled, the father explained; "People call this an echo, but really this is life. It gives you back everything you say and do. Our lives are a reflection of our actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart. If you want competency in your team, improve your own competence. This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of your life. Life will give you back everything you have given to it."

Our Beliefs About Ourselves

Our beliefs about ourselves

One of the greatest lessons in life I believe you can learn is the benefit of taking full and complete responsibility in your life for each and every part of your life, good, bad or indifferent.

Not from the point of view of assigning blaming, guilt or shame. Simply from the point of understanding, gaining insight and clarity of what you’ve done, why you’ve chosen to do it, what the payoff is. From there it allows us to be in a position to make better and more empowering choices next time to better support your life.

Our life is a reflection of our thoughts.

If you were to evaluate your life would you feel as though you are living into your greatest purpose or passion?

If the answer is no or you’re not sure here are some questions to ask yourself ;

1. Who am I?

2. What do I do?

3. Why do I do what I do?

4. What will my biggest legacy be?

5. What do I believe about myself to be true?

6. Does what I currently believe about myself support my ideal self?

7. What are the payoffs for the negative beliefs I have about myself?

8. Can I identify my negative beliefs about myself?

9. What am I willing to believe about myself that would best support my life?

10. What belief do I currently hold about myself that is getting in the way of what I am deserve?

11. What action steps can I take to accept and fully love myself for who I am now?

It’s only when we take the time to intentionally question who we are, what beliefs we hold about ourselves and how we’re showing up in life do we start the process of taking full and complete responsibility for ourselves and our lives.

Taking responsibility for our lives includes understanding why we’ve made the choices we’ve made, understanding that our limiting beliefs drive most of our behaviours.

We attract to our life what we’re putting out in terms of our energies and also our beliefs about ourselves and about other people, situations and circumstances.

So with that knowledge in hand it allows us to make some better and more empowering choices and decisions.

Once you identify what your negative beliefs are then you are in a position to change those beliefs to more positive ones that can be done through writing positive affirmations. Turning the negative belief or statement about yourself into a more positive one.

As you continue to practice believing more positive things about yourself they eventually become a habit. They become a part of your natural make up and your daily practice to fully know that you are an amazing person complete and whole in your essence of simply being.

With kindest of intentions

Getting Real!!

Today's focus in the 8 step personal development series is Getting Real!

You do not have to be anybody other than your authentic self. This does not mean wearing your favorite worn out jeans or yoga pants to the next corporate meeting. What this does mean ...

March to the beat of your own drum whenever you can!

You are unique.

You are a miracle.

You are a graceful creator.

You matter.

Your true path may never be revealed if you spend your life behaving like you "should".

"Well behaved women rarely make history." - Louisa May Alcott

Why on Earth would you spend your life doing things over and over that you have no interest in, or continue in a career or relationship that is no longer fulfilling? If your answer is security, think again...

It's never too soon, nor too late to discover your passion and live your life on your own terms.

Years ago my mentor coach asked me to work on a creative project to identify what kind of a professional coach I wanted to be.

The mission... Create a simple picture of ME in my element, surrounded by all of the props and things that light me up as woman. A brand new box of crayons and a short time later, "Super Shann" was created.

You might begin with a comparison and contrast of the person you are at work and the person you are at home with friends and family. Which person is more authentic?

There is no need to be an experienced artist. Just get started and have fun with the process.
Check out my rendition of "Super Shann" a fun picture illustrating this creative idea.

Groovy Action Plan

What do you enjoy the most about your career / business / job?

What are you truly passionate about?

Can you surround yourself with more inspiration?

Draw a fun and vibrant picture of your authentic self, who you are under all of the layers of who you "should" be.

Feeling brave and silly? Email me your picture and I'll post it on the True Balance Life Coaching blog.

Next up ... What Makes You Tick?

Abundance, Wealth, Prosperity, Financial Freedom

Focus on Abundance
by Sandy Forster
Australia's Leading Prosperity Mentor

Abundance,Wealth, Prosperity, Financial Freedom – we all crave it, not just for what the money will do, but for the choices it will give us, for the fun we can create with it, for the life we can live with it. Why is it that some people seem to attract money and riches so easily, and others live their entire lives struggling to make ends meet?

Why does it often seem that the rich just get richer and the poor just get poorer? Well guess what – it’s not about how MUCH money you make, but how you THINK about money and what you DO with that money that will make all the difference between whether you will live a life of Prosperity or one of continual money challenges. But no matter what your situation – it CAN be changed. If you desire MORE Abundance in your life – then read on!

Living the life of your dreams instead of just dreaming about it is all about creating a Millionaire Mindset.

And that’s my specialty! I have been a Prosperity Mentor for over 4
years with clients from all over the world. I love to share different
strategies, skills, exercises and ideas on how to keep your mind
focused on raising the levels of Wealth in your life. Because the more
you focus on something, the FASTER you will attract it into your life.

Take a moment to think about where your focus or predominant mental attitude is. And if it’s more on your bills, debts and lack of money, then you MUST begin to focus on wealth, riches and prosperity – or you will never be able to attract it into your life. A surprisingly simple but amazingly powerful exercise to attract prosperity to you takes less than a minute a day, and if you do this daily, you’ll be amazed at what you begin to attract into your life. This exercise is called Abundance Breaths and basically all you need to do is breathe. Well, actually, it’s a little more than that…

As already stated, you become what you focus on. Too often, it can be challenging to know exactly what you do want. You get caught up in trying to make up your mind - “Do I want this or that? What if I get that and I really would have preferred this?” “I thought I wanted this, but now I think I want that”.

Sometimes it’s easier if you can just focus on the feeling of abundance, rather than the specifics of what that abundance will be. It is the feeling that has the attraction power anyway. You can get specific when all the money comes in!

What you should do before this exercise to ecreate avalanches of abundance and prosperity is find a comfy chair and ssit down with your feet flat on the floor, back straight and hands resting in your lap with palms facing up. Gently close your eyes and keep them closed. Before you get started just imagine that you are now surrounded by tiny, minute particles of abundance; that you are immersed in a sea of prosperity and you can reach out and touch it and bring it into your life whenever you desire (which you can!).

When you’re ready, take a long, slow, deep Abundance Breath in to the count of three, totally expanding and filling your lungs. Imagine all the while that you are breathing in those particles of prosperity and they are filling every fibre of your being. Feel that feeling of being flooded with abundance. Hold your breath for the count of nine and feel every atom, every cell in your entire body being plumped up with prosperity, filled with abundance, vibrating with riches. And then slowly, to the count of six, breathe out that Abundance to circulate throughout the Universe – really force all that air out.

Once again, take another long, slow, deep Abundance Breath in, and this time, see your body light up from the inside out, glowing with prosperity, sparkling with riches, dazzling with wealth. I like to imagine that my body is glowing from the inside out with that same golden glow that radiates from Scrooge McDuck’s millions, or the gold in Aladdin’s cave! Once again, hold for the count of nine, seeing that
glow, feeling that glow, then on the out breath, once again breathe out
the abundance to circulate throughout the Universe.

One last time, slowly breathe in a huge big Abundance Breath for the count of three, and while you hold that breath for the count of nine, imagine and feel what it’s like to be totally abundant, amazingly wealthy, to have achieved financial freedom and be rich beyond your wildest dreams. Feel how that feels; feel how light and free and good that feels. Expand that feeling; feel it flood through your body. Embrace that amazing feeling throughout your body, mind and spirit. And for the last time, slowly breathe that abundance and prosperity out to circulate throughout the Universe.

And when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes, feeling prosperous, feeling wealthy, feeling rich, rich, rich! As I said, this is a very easy, very powerful little trick you can do daily or many times, if you want to attract MORE into your life. It only takes a couple of minutes, but has amazing money-magnetizing powers. Once you get really good at your Abundance Breaths, you won’t even need to close your eyes – you will be able to feel those feelings, see your body glowing with prosperity and really feel you are beginning to attract money anytime, anywhere – what fun! Remember, the idea is to focus on what you DO want – and that’s a life filled with prosperity, abundance, riches, wealth and happiness!

Your Fourth Wife.....

The King's Four Wives

By Author Unknown

Once upon a time there was a rich king who had four wives. He loved his fourth wife the most and adorned her with riches. He also loved his third wife and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he always feared that she would leave him. His second wife was kind and considerate and his trusted confidante and advisor in difficult times. Wife number one was devoted and loyal and although she loved him deeply, he was not so interested and tended to ignore her.

One day, the king fell ill and knew his time was short. He thought of his luxurious life and feared being alone when he died.

He asked his fourth wife, "I have loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" she replied and walked away without another word.

The sad king then asked the third wife, "I have loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company? " "No!" she replied. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to remarry!"

He then asked the second wife, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" she replied. "At the very most, I can help with your funeral."

Then a voice called out to the king in his sadness: "I'll leave with you and follow you no matter where you go." The king looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny and undernourished. Greatly grieved, the king said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"

In truth, we all have four wives in our lives. Our fourth wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die. Our third wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others. Our second wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave. And our first wife is our soul, often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the ego. However, our soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go.

The moral of the story: Look after your body and keep it healthy so you can live life to its fullest. Enjoy your possessions and the comfort they provide. Cherish your friends and family and the love they provide. But don't forget to nourish your soul--it is the source of all your life and your most faithful friend.

In peace and love

Who Is Responsible For Your Life?

Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life - STARTING TODAY!

by Jack Canfield

This isn’t a trick question.

Certainly you know the answer—the person who has been responsible for the life you live right now: YOU.

Everything about you is a result of your doing or not doing... Your income. Debt. Relationships. Health. Fitness level. Attitudes and behaviors.

I've often said that you are either creating or allowing everything that is happening in your life.

I think everyone knows this in their hearts, but often times people convince themselves into thinking that external factors are the source of their failure, disappointment, and unhappiness.

External factors do not determine how you live. YOU are in complete control of the quality of your life, by either creating or allowing the circumstances you experience.

When I hear people complain about the state of their life (be it their problems with personal finances, weight, their jobs, or general dissatisfaction), I like to help them see things differently.

If they feel “stuck” and unable to move forward for whatever reason, I ask them to scrutinize both what is working well and what isn’t working well in their life and see how they’ve arrived at where they currently are.

For example, if a woman tells me she’s unhappy with her weight—she travels frequently, and has no to time to exercise or seek healthy foods—I point out that her weight is not a result of her travels and schedule. It’s an outcome of what she chooses to eat and how she chooses to move, regardless of her daily agenda. Why not make a conscious effort to pre-plan healthy meals and snacks, even if it’s on the go, and sneak in 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there to be physically active (hey, I know some frequent flyers that make it a habit of running through airports!).

If you’re frustrated with any area in your life, then it’s time to take a little inventory.

Certainly there are wonderful things happening, whether it’s your job, your romantic relationship, your children, your friends, or your income level. Your accomplishments are just as important as your missteps.

First, congratulate yourself on your successes; and then take a look at what isn’t working out so well. What are you doing or not doing to create those experiences?

Watch out! If you find yourself beginning to complain about everything but the choices you’ve made, then you need to take a step back. See if you can stop blaming outside factors for your unhappiness.

When you realize that you—and only you—create your experiences, you’ll realize that you can un-create them and forge new experiences whenever you want.

How empowering is that!

You must take responsibility for your happiness and your unhappiness, your successes and your failures, your good times and your bad times.

All too often we choose to claim the successes and blame the failures on others or other circumstances. When you stop blaming, however, you can take that energy and redirect it to focus on shaping a better situation for yourself. Blaming only ties up your energy. Imagine roping all the energy into a positive effort.

Some ideas to make this happen:

1. Believe, Believe, Believe! Have unwavering faith in yourself, for good and bad. Make the decision to accept the fact that you create all your experiences. You will experience successes thanks to you, and you will experience pain, struggle, and strife thanks to you. Sounds a little strange, but accepting this level of responsibility is uniquely empowering. It means you can do, change, and be anything. Stumbling blocks become just that—little hills to hop over.

2. Take no less than 100% responsibility . Successful people take full responsibility for the thoughts they think, the images they visualize, and the actions they take. They don't waste their time and energy blaming and complaining. They evaluate their experiences and decide if they need to change them or not. They face the uncomfortable and take risks in order to create the life they want to live.

3. Stop complaining . Look at what you are complaining about. I’m fat. I’m tired. I can’t get out of debt. I won’t ever get a better job. I can’t stand the relationship I have with my sister. I’ll never find a soulmate in life. Really examine your complaints. More than likely you can do something about them. They are not about other people, other things, or other events. They are about YOU.

4. Make an immediate change. Are you unhappy about something that is happening right now? Make requests that will make it more desirable to you, or take the steps to change it yourself. Making a change might be uncomfortable for you. It might mean you have to put in more time, money, and effort. It might mean that someone gets upset about it, or makes you feel bad about your decision. It might be difficult to change or leave a situation, but staying put is your choice so why continue to complain?

You can either do something about it or not. It is your choice and you have responsibility for your choices.

5. Pay attention. Looking to others for help and guidance is helpful, but don’t forget to stay tuned in to yourself—your behavior, attitude, and life experiences. Identify what’s working and what isn’t. If you need to, write it all down. Then…

6. Face the truth and take action for the long term . You have to be willing to change your behavior if you want a different outcome. You have to be willing to take the risks necessary to get what you want. If you’ve already taken an initial step in the right direction, now’s the time to plan additional steps to keep moving you forward, faster.

Isn’t it a great relief to know that you can make your life what you want it to be? Isn’t it wonderful that your successes do not depend on someone else?

If you need just one thing to do different today, than you did yesterday, make it this:

Commit to taking 100% responsibility for every aspect of your life. Decide to make changes, one step at a time. Once you start the process you’ll discover it's much easier to get what you want by taking control of your thoughts, your visualizations, and your actions!

What is Love?

Despite preaching today on being the light and love of Jesus, I witnessed a scenario that demonstrated that the message had not gotten though to some people. I saw people hurt and attacked by words, by attitudes, by thoughtlessness, by rage, by indifference.

The results of today’s altercation is that one and possibly two people will not return to our church. The result is that those hearing the altercation were also hurt by the pain of those who were attacked.

What does it take to get the message of God to sink in to our hearts? This is not a new problem. It has been around for as long as people have been alive. Jesus’ gave a parable about the seeds sewn, some on rocky ground where they could not take hold, some on shallow ground where they quickly sprouted up and then died, and some on fertile ground where they thrived.

If we can’t make our churches fertile ground, we will lose more and more people. Jesus asked us to love one another. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your mind and all your soul and your neighbour as yourself.

We all hurt some days. We all fail some days. We all have sorrow and pain. But Jesus told us to gather together in our church families to be healed…..not to be hurt even more. Where is our faith, our love, our compassion, our caring? Where is our support, our willingness to reach out to others, to provide help and instruction? Where is our fellowship? It seems we have closed our doors to those who do not think the way we do, behave the way we do, those who are not like us.

This is not Jesus’ way. He said, Come unto me all those who are heavy laden and I will give you rest. He invited us then to come to him and we, who are his followers, should be inviting those around us to come to him through and with us. Why aren’t we?

Faith makes us whole. Not deeds. I John 4: 7-8 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love”

I John 4: 10-11 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”

Yours in love
Fran

P.S.  There are five things that you cannot recover in life:

(1) The Stone...........after it's thrown,
(2) The Word................after it's said,
(3) The Occasion......after it's missed, and
(4) The Time.............after it's gone.
(5) A person...............after they die
